Posts » Look up and down
Twenty-five years ago I began my studies, but it wasn’t computer science I always wanted to or physics which I ultimately ended up majoring in, but astronomy. Although I quickly abandoned it for physics, I still keep reading about related topics or simply looking at the stars. It still awes me how big the world is and how small we are. It makes me appreciate life more.
That’s for looking up on the sky.
I’ve recently stumbled upon a story, which says working with soil is a natural anti-depressant. I cannot agree more! It’s not only a natural but also a very humble experience. Every time I eat I try to keep in mind how hard it must have been to raise everything that goes into my meal. And again, it makes me appreciate life more.
That’s for looking down on the ground.
And that’s where we should look for inspiration and connection with our natural place in the universe.
But instead many people spend too much time looking around, comparing themselves with people around, even more in the era of always connected world. And all that makes them unhappy.
If only people who run this world would stop craving for things around them, and instead see themselves as a tiny part of universe.
But nothing is lost yet.
Be those people who can see. Be those who can make this world better.
