Posts » Get rid of the military
In my previous post I expressed my doubts on how military spending is presented to general public.
And I feel bad about living in a country which 1) misguides us about how much money military matters cost; 2) spends that money in the first place.
If you read my posts you know pretty well I’m an idealist. And the thing is I’m a pacifist too. So you may not be surprised by this statement: I believe the correct amount of money spent on military is zero.
Zero. Nothing. Null.
We could easily do it if only everyone did it.
Back in the middle ages there were armies for hire and in case of war ordinary people were conscripted.
Nowadays we maintain huge private armies just in case. And we are wasting huge amounts of money on that.
And some stupid people, like Putin or Trump, have a ways of starting wars because they have armies ready at their hands.
And those conflicts bring us death, suffering, misery, starvation, plagues, fear, or thousands of other horrible things.
All that’s bad and unnecessary.
Nothing good and noble.
Humanity wastes too much effort on it.
We should be wiser.
p.s. This post is a bit chaotic because it cost me too much. I’m angry at the world that it let the wars of the past 30 years happen. And that so many people have suffered. And that I have to live my life like it’s normal. But it isn’t. And I don’t want to pretend. I’m sick of fearing idiots who may end this all.
